Creating a bridge from homeless to home is a hands-on, community-wide effort. We invite the participation of groups and individuals, and always have many areas in which you can apply your talents. Here are just a few current areas of opportunity (we also welcome your ideas).

Direct Client Support

For Families

  • Provide support to a single mom: baby-sit, help clean, mentor,etc.
  • Prepare a meal for one of our families
  • Drive participants to appointments
  • Provide a computer for one home
  • Tutor an adult studying for the GED
  • Provide hair cuts, coloring

For Children

  • Tutor in reading, math and other school subjects
  • Take a family on an outing, to a museum, zoo, ball game, etc.

Support Services

  • Cash donations
  • Serve on a committee: fundraising, audit or finance
  • Put on a fundraiser
  • Help in the office
  • Organize a food drivev

Maintenance / Repairs

  • Purchase state income tax credits (NAP)
  • Do yard work summer and fall
  • Volunteer to clean an apartment after a participant moves out
  • Volunteer for repair work: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting
  • Clean gutters and downspouts
