Creating a bridge from homeless to home is a hands-on, community-wide effort. We invite the participation of groups and individuals, and always have many areas in which you can apply your talents. Here are just a few current areas of opportunity (we also welcome your ideas).
Direct Client Support
For Families
- Provide support to a single mom: baby-sit, help clean, mentor,etc.
- Prepare a meal for one of our families
- Drive participants to appointments
- Provide a computer for one home
- Tutor an adult studying for the GED
- Provide hair cuts, coloring
For Children
- Tutor in reading, math and other school subjects
- Take a family on an outing, to a museum, zoo, ball game, etc.
Support Services
- Cash donations
- Serve on a committee: fundraising, audit or finance
- Put on a fundraiser
- Help in the office
- Organize a food drivev
Maintenance / Repairs
- Purchase state income tax credits (NAP)
- Do yard work summer and fall
- Volunteer to clean an apartment after a participant moves out
- Volunteer for repair work: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting
- Clean gutters and downspouts
